On friday we dressed up for children in need. We saw lots of wonderful costumes and thank you for the money you raised for children in need. I hope your child liked dresssing up. We loved the costumes and and this bunny costume is brilliant. Mr Fisher wants to thank you for dressing up and hopes that you had a great time.

Anti bullying week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

18/11/2016

This week is anti bullying week and many have dressed up as super heroes or heroes this Friday. Also throughout every subject there was a link. For example: in literacy 5/6 learnt about real heroes and heroines that saved (real) lives; they pushed people out of car accidents risking their own lives or painted paintings, raising £4,000 for Reverse Rett charity.

It's really important that schools talk about anti-bullying, for the following reasons:
  1. So children understand what it feels like to be bullied so they don't do it to others.
  2. So children know what to do if they find them selves in the situation of them being bullied.
  3.  To understand what bullying is.
  4.  To be able to spot bullying if it happens to a fellow member of the school.
  5.  To understand what being kind means.

Clubs around the school

Around the school there have been lots of clubs going on.

There has been singing going on in the music room and we have been learning songs such as candle on the water, little Spanish town and pirates.

There's been cross country going on while we have been enjoying our activity afternoon.

There have also been infants doing Spanish club in the infant library. I would love it if you could comment about what you think about the clubs.

Thank you, from Blog Squad.

In class 3/4GN we' have been leaning about the stone age, bronze age and the ion age. We have even made necklaces and painted them .Also we have been writing poems like kennings and rhyming couplets. Also, the year 3/4's went on a trip to Compton Verney and had to put their hands in horse poo! We also got to make bread with no electricity to heat it. As well as this, we were able to make fire and dens. All in all, it was a fantastic time!

Over the first half term 3/4TH been making Stone Age necklaces. We took two days to make the necklaces. We put them on string and wore them.
                                                 by Abhinash

First we had to make them out of clay, then we painted them. Next we
left them to dry, finally we threaded them.
                                                 by Isobel

We had to plan everything before we made the necklaces. After we had finished making the necklaces Mrs Hage and Mrs Tribe Phillips put some on the wall.

We have been making kennings. Here is an example:

mouse chaser,
dog hater,
sleep lover,
string stealer,

young player,
cute cuddler,
fish eater.

This one was a cat but there were other more creative ones as well. Kennings are very special. Can you spot how?
