The Opening Ceremony
After a long journey, we finally arrived at the north Solihull sports centre, all athletes sat and watched the opening ceremony of cheerleaders and dancers which were creative and inspiring with awesome lifts! Then we met a future GB gymnast and she showed us a clip about her steps to success. To take away our nerves Pam Cooper- a world record holder for 800m- gave us a small but inspiring pep talk! Then came the wait until the competition begin!
After the opening ceremony , we all walked down to the athletics track . We all did our own warm up lap and stretches but then the heats commenced. We all ran our hardest. With all our effort we were put in a great position for the next round … swimming!
TAKE YOUR MARKS … GO!!! This was it our final push towards VICTORY! We were prepared! Putting all our effort into every single stroke , we pushed our way to the finish line. It … was … tough! But we got through it in a great position.
Even though we were in the wrong ceremony hall, we still picked up the pleasing trophy and medals ; the medals were for all of us … WE WON SECOND!! And the trophy we were most proud of as it was awarded to us for the kindest and best sportsmanship. Also , we were so proud to represent the entire district.
