Indoor football success

10/2/2015

Picture
Congratulations to the Milverton Dream Team who took part in an indoor football tournament with 3 other local primary schools on Monday afternoon. After a warm up and skills session, the team produced three outstanding performances: winning two matches and drawing one. The Dream Team finished in joint first place with Clapham Terrace Primary School. Well done to all the children who enjoyed their afternoon of football competition.

GREAT PERFORMANCE AT CROSS COUNTRY RELAYS

9/2/2015

The school entered 3 girls' teams and 3 boys' teams in the Harbury Cross Country relays that took place on Saturday morning. All the children in all the teams show great determination in running their relay legs with some great results.
The girls' A team finished second and the B team was the first B team home. The boys' A team finished in first place and the B team was the first B team home.
Congratulations to all the children who took part in both the girls' and boys' A, B and C teams. And a special well done to all the Year 5 runners who got their first taste of school cross country running and showed great promise for next year's autumn league competition.

Year 1 trip to the Sea Life Centre

4/2/2015

It was the turn of the year 1 children to visit the Sea Life Centre today.

We just had time to touch sea anemones and starfish before we were taken on a tour.

Picture

We learned so many interesting facts. Did you know that when a starfish eats the whole of its stomach comes out of its body? It envelops its food with its stomach and then takes its stomach back inside its body? Or that one poison dart frog has enough venom to kill 100 people?

Picture

Amelie's favourite of the day was the penguins.

Picture

The lion fish were some children's favourite creature.

Picture

We had an amazing day and it was wonderful to see so many of the animals we have learned about in the classroom for real.
