The 2012 Olympic legacy was evident at North Leamington School in October when eight talented athletes took part in a 'Mini Olympics' afternoon organised by North Leamington Cluster.
The children competed in a mixture of field and track events including javelin, obstacle relays and standing long jump and also some fun events that included skipping, hockey shooting and bean bag throwing.
Congratulations to Team Milverton who came a close Second Place.
Milverton's Year 3/4 football teams were in action at Trinity School in October in the Leamington North Cluster Tournament.
Congratulation to the boys. There was an unrivalled performance from Milverton Lions who won the final 4 -0 against St Paul's School. The Milverton Tigers also played some super football but missed out on qualifying for the play offs.
Parents will be aware of the project that our Collaboration Council led last year at Milverton Primary school, Telford Infants, Telford Juniors and Brookhurst Primary- raising money for The Guide Dogs. The children across all schools worked together holding fundraising activities. A t Milverton these included ‘Pay to Play Day' and a sponsored spell! At Milverton we raised an amazing total of £2350 and combined with the other schools the grand total was a donation to The Guide Dogs of £3857.55. The Guide Dogs run a national Name A Puppy scheme and as part of this we have, between the schools, been able to vote to name 2 puppies, one bitch and one dog. The children from all the schools voted and we are pleased to say that Biscuit (bitch) and Magic (dog) were the favourite names. We are hoping at some point this year to receive a visit to school from some guide dog puppies in training. Fingers crossed we may even meet Biscuit or Magic!
Thank you for all the donations that were sent to school this morning to contribute to our Harvest collection for the Leamington Christian Mission, the Foodbank and the Salvation Army.
Despite some technical problems, we managed to have a lovely Harvest Assembly to which children from Years 1-6 contributed with some dancing, singing, music making and poetry readings.
Thank you to Ros and the team at St Mark's Church and those parents who helped accompany the children to church.
Great news! This week the school has been awarded the Sainsbury’s School Games Bronze Award. This is in recognition of the school:
