extra curricular
At Milverton, many opportunities for learning take place beyond the hours of the school day, both at lunchtime and after school.

We are very proud to say we have achieved the 'Sainsbury's Gold Award' for sports participation for the last 2 years, as we aim to be involved in every competition we can take part in. We firmly believe that a healthy exposure to competitive sporting performance helps to develop character and resilience in our children. This includes, for example, helping them to develop the skills of challenging themselves, performing under pressure and learning how to cope with winning and losing.

We encourage and support children in taking part in performance opportunities at whatever standard they may presently be working at.

Children take part in musical performance, poetic and dramatic performance and public speaking competitions.

We are proud of all our children for trying new things and doing their best.

We also see great value in allowing children to have play experiences at school. We have 'Bish Bash Bosh,' which is a creative play shed named by the children, led by the children and stocked up by the community with recycled materials that will promote positive creative play. Children must use cooperative play skills, sensible risk assessment and ultimately find a great deal of enjoyment in 'Bish Bash Bosh!'

We really enjoy allowing children to organise competitions for their friends to enter into. Many of our children have talents that lie outside those seen in the classroom and we feel it pertinent to give them the opportunity to show these talents. Our Sports leaders in the LAFF club lead many sports competitions for children to enter as well as our 'Milverton's Got Talent' show!
